TWO LISTS. EVERY DIFFERENCE.
COMPARE TWO LISTS
Compare two lists to find missing items and matches. Paste each Excel column into its own list, then copy just the results you need.
Empty items are ignored. Duplicates count once. Results preserve the first spelling; shared items use List A. Comma mode splits on every comma, including commas inside quotes. Up to 1,000,000 characters per list.
Paste a list to begin.
CSV exports include a category column. Values that could be spreadsheet formulas are prefixed with an apostrophe. Copy and TXT preserve original text.
COMPARE TWO COLUMNS ONLINE
Copy the data cells from one Excel or Google Sheets column into List A, then paste the other column into List B. Leave out column headings and keep New line selected. Paste each column separately; this tool does not import an Excel workbook or split a two-column paste automatically.
COMPARE TWO LISTS TO FIND MISSING ITEMS
Use List A for your expected IDs and List B for the IDs you received. ONLY IN A means missing from B. ONLY IN B means extra items not found in A. BOTH LISTS shows matches, regardless of row order.
| List A · Expected | List B · Received |
|---|---|
| SKU-001 | SKU-002 |
| SKU-002 | SKU-004 |
| SKU-003 | SKU-005 |
| SKU-004 |
Missing from B: SKU-001 and SKU-003. Extra in B: SKU-005. Matches: SKU-002 and SKU-004. Choose TRY EXCEL EXAMPLE above to load these lists. Copy a result and paste it into the first empty cell of a spreadsheet column; each item goes on its own line.
Swapping A and B reverses which list is missing an item. Duplicate entries are counted but collapse to one result: this checks whether an ID is present, not whether its quantity matches.
COMPARISON QUESTIONS
How do I compare two Excel columns?
Copy one column into List A and the other into List B. Keep “New line” selected. Shared items appear in Both Lists; missing values appear in Only in A or Only in B. Download results or copy them back into your sheet.
Does order or capitalization matter?
Order does not affect matching. Case is ignored unless you enable Case sensitive. Trim outer spaces removes whitespace at each end, but spaces inside an item still matter. Unicode text is supported; accented letters remain distinct from unaccented letters.
How is this different from a text diff?
This tool compares sets of whole items, not individual characters or line positions. Repeated items collapse to one result. All Unique combines both lists; Shared contains their intersection.
Are my lists saved or uploaded?
The comparison runs entirely in your browser. This tool does not upload or save your list contents. Reloading the page clears the inputs. No account or paid API is needed.
